Formal IGCSE examinations are scheduled after Year 11, while formal A Level examinations are held at the culmination of Year 13. It is mandatory for students to undertake these exams at an approved examination centre.

At GBS, our online learning environment is carefully structured to minimize behavioural issues, disruptions, and distractions. To ensure a focused learning experience, teachers have the ability to manage student communication by restricting chat or microphone access if necessary, until the end of the lesson. Additionally, teachers can allocate students to breakout rooms to address any behavioural concerns and find solutions after the class concludes.
Clear guidelines and controls are communicated to all students, fostering a positive and supportive learning atmosphere. This approach provides reassurance to learners who may have previously experienced bullying, creating a safe environment for all.
At GBS, each academic term spans approximately 12 weeks, similar to many independent schools. Each term is divided into two half terms, each lasting around 6 weeks, with a 1-week break in between. At the end of each term, students typically have a longer holiday break of around 2 weeks.
In total, the academic year includes 39 instructional weeks when accounting for holidays and breaks. While GBS holiday dates may vary from other institutions, our schedule is designed to provide a balanced academic year with ample time for learning and rest.
