About Online School
Frequently Asked Questions
For the 2025-2026 academic year, TGBS online school offers a specialized program for students aged 11 to 16, covering Year 7 to Year 11. This includes Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, preparing students for Cambridge IGCSE’s and building a strong foundation for further studies.
At TGBS, one of the key advantages of online learning is our digital platform. Unlike in a conventional or mainstream school, our students have the flexibility to catch up on missed lessons or revisit previous content at any time. With 24/7 access to lesson recordings, this feature is particularly beneficial for learners who may have medical appointments or experience illness-related absences.
At TGBS, we promote open communication and collaboration among students, especially in classes with multiple students. Our dedicated teachers strive to create a supportive and interactive environment that enhances learning and fosters strong communication skills between your child and their peers and educators. We strongly encourage you to involve your child in various activities within your local community, such as sports, outdoor pursuits, and music, where they can interact with children of similar ages. While we may not directly participate in these activities, we value discussions about students’ experiences during their “non-teaching” time, as this can inform lesson focus and help them understand their place in the broader world.
The regulations governing online education vary from one country to another. To obtain the most accurate and up-to-date information, it is recommended to visit the official website of your country’s government education department or directly contact them for detailed guidance.
In order to study at TGBS, students are required to possess proficiency in the English language, encompassing reading, writing, and speaking skills.
With the availability of lesson recordings for 24/7 access, students can revisit previous classes for additional support. This feature alleviates the pressure of comprehending everything in real time and allows students to work through the content at their own pace.
Moreover, these learners often find comfort in the controlled learning environment of their own homes. Our digital classrooms are thoughtfully designed to minimize negative behaviour and disruptions. Private teacher chat options empower students to answer questions without the fear of making mistakes in front of their peers.

However, depending on the time of year and various factors such as the timely submission of required documents and fees, as well as the enrolment demand during peak seasons, it may take up to 2 weeks. To ensure a smooth Enrolment experience, we recommend registering at least one to two weeks prior to your intended start date.
By default, your child will be assigned to the year group corresponding to their age unless you specify otherwise.
IGCSE qualifications from TGBS are widely recognized across the UK and internationally, providing students the flexibility to continue with A Levels at other Sixth Forms or colleges if they choose. TGBS follows the Cambridge-aligned Curriculum, which does not issue official certificates. However, we can provide documentation, including letters of registration, to confirm your child’s level and duration of study. Additionally, comprehensive academic reports are accessible through our digital platform, serving as valuable records of your child’s educational progress.
Although attending lessons is strongly encouraged, we understand the importance of flexibility for our students. If a student happens to miss a class, they have the convenience of accessing lesson recordings at any time, 24/7, to catch up on the material.
At TGBS, our online learning environment is carefully structured to minimize behavioural issues, disruptions, and distractions. To ensure a focused learning experience, teachers have the ability to manage student communication by restricting chat or microphone access if necessary, until the end of the lesson. Additionally, teachers can allocate students to breakout rooms to address any behavioural concerns and find solutions after the class concludes.
Clear guidelines and controls are communicated to all students, fostering a positive and supportive learning atmosphere. This approach provides reassurance to learners who may have previously experienced bullying, creating a safe environment for all.
At present, our instructional sessions are exclusively conducted in English, and we do not provide lessons in any other languages.
While TGBS, does not currently provide additional support for students with learning difficulties, many learners in this category discover that online schooling aligns well with their preferred learning approach. For instance, with unrestricted access to lesson recordings and resources at all times, students with learning difficulties have the freedom to progress at their own speed.
